Intoximeters acquires National Patent Analytical Systems' breath alcohol testing business
ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI - Intoximeters, Inc. (St. Louis, MO) is pleased to announce the acquisition of the breath alcohol testing business of National Patent Analytical Systems, Inc. (NPAS) (Mansfield, OH).
NPAS has a long history in the field of breath alcohol testing and currently produces the “Datamaster DMT” (DMT) instrument. The DMT uses proven infrared technology to quantify alcohol concentrations in breath. It is designed for fixed site or mobile testing and is used extensively both domestically and internationally as the primary evidential instrument for DUI enforcement and workplace testing programs.
As a long-time leader and advocate for instruments that use fuel cell technology, Intoximeters realizes that regulatory restrictions and customer preference prevent the use of this technology in some circumstances. By adding the best of class infrared technology employed by NPAS in the DMT instrument to the current product offering, Intoximeters will be able to meet the needs of a larger customer base.
