Breath Testing Training and Experience
William Maze owns two BAC Datamaster breath testing machines. One is fully functioning and is identical to the models used by Michigan police officers. This instrument was purchased by Mr. Maze directly from National Patent Analytical Systems (NPAS). The second device that Mr. Maze maintains in his office is Ohio's version of the BAC Datamaster with an external keyboard. Although fully functional as well, this Datamaster has been stripped down to its internal components to show how the device works.
In addition to owning the breath testing devices that are used in Michigan, Mr. Maze has two separate years of NPAS training videos. These three day courses are presented by the manufacturers of the BAC Datamaster for attorneys and experts. They provide in-depth analysis of how these devices work and the underlying science of infrared breath testing.
Mr. Maze maintains an extensive library of books, journals, and other literature covering breath testing, and all of Michigan’s governmental documents relating to breath testing.
Finally, Mr. Maze has participated extensively in various organizations with lectures on breath testing and defense tactics in breath test cases.
